Sheriff’s Office Records Request All Public, Media, and Employment Background Records Requests should follow the same process as citizen requests for copies of police reports. These requests should be made through the Flagstaff Police Department Records Section by completing an Online Public Records Request. A fee may apply. Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has contracted with Telmate to provide telephone services to inmates and their family/friends with easy-to-use inmate telephone calling services at affordable rates. To help Coconino County inmates stay connected with the outside world, Telmate provides the following multiple calling options.

1. Collect Calls – Inmate places a collect call that is accepted and paid for by the party they are calling e.g. the friends and family members.
*Note: Inmates CANNOT make Collect Calls to Cell Phones, Business Phones or numbers that are blocked from receiving collect calls.

2. Destination Number Prepaid Account – Prepaid call accounts are set up by the called party (e.g. the inmate’s family/friends.) to eliminate the problem of collect call blocks. Inmates can place prepaid calls to cell phones, office phones, hospitals and other commercial phone numbers that normally do not accept collect calls. When an inmate calls the end user, the call charges are deducted from the called party’s prepaid account.

3. Inmate Prepaid Account – Friends and Family add money to an inmate’s prepaid account, allowing the inmate to call any unblocked number they choose. Inmate Family/Friends and others can easily and quickly set up a Prepaid Call Account, add money to an Inmate Prepaid Account, or Inmate Trust account by one of the following methods:

*Note: Telmate allows a ONE TIME, 1-MINUTE Complimentary Free call between the inmate and the called party when the number that the inmate is trying to call is blocked from receiving collect calls.
Blocking / Unblocking Numbers: Telmate’s inmate telephone service allows you to block your number so that inmates at the Coconino County Detention Facility and Page Holding Facility cannot call your number.

All personal mail such as letters, pictures, and drawings will be digitally delivered to your inmate via tablet.

To ensure mail gets delivered electronically, include:

• • • Complete facility name, no abbreviations) and state
    • Inmate’s full name and Booking Number
    • Sender’s full name and physical address

*Follow the guidelines of the facility for checks/money orders and attorney-client privileged mail and don’t send to the new (Phoenix, MD) address.

• Regular mail will be inspected by jail staff prior to being given to the inmate.
• Newspapers, magazines, and books will not be accepted unless received through the USPS or other commercial carrier, from a publisher. This means that no literature will be accepted from a personal sender. All periodicals and books must be sent from a publisher directly.
• Inmates may have a subscription to periodicals. The inmates or the inmate’s family must set up the subscription and maintain it on their own. The jail will not help set up or maintain subscriptions.
• All books and periodicals must have the inmate’s full name as it appears on their ID. Packages containing anything other than books will be refused.
• Unauthorized Material: Photographs or explicit drawing(s) of nude persons where sexual organs are exposed or any sex act is depicted are not allowed.
• Depictions or descriptions of street gangs and/or Security Threat Groups (STG) and related gang/STG paraphernalia, including but not limited to codes, signs, symbols, photographs, drawings, pictures, training material and catalogs are not allowed.
• Polaroid pictures are not allowed.
• Illustrations and/or text which shows or describes the manufacture or fabrication of weapons such as guns, knives, or incendiary devices are not allowed.
• Hardbound books are not allowed.
• Any items which categorically can be expected to encourage violent or disruptive behavior by inmates in general are not allowed.
• Envelopes and stamps are not allowed to be sent to an inmate. These items are available to inmates through commissary.
• Perishable items are not allowed and will be disposed. Other items not specifically listed also may be denied.
